Position Summary

Principal Responsibilities

1.    Stay current on industry trends and advancements in material science
2.    Researching suitable alternate materials and verifying specification and standards
3.    Advice new processes needed when applying new proposed materials
4.    Conducting initial quality tests on new materials and provide reports and recommendations.
5.    Evaluating supplier’s competency on material knowledge for future support.
6.    Work with suppliers for improvements, seeking ways to optimize processes through material characteristics
7.    Staying updated with new industrial trend and technologies, including environment & sustainability trend.
8.    Analyse performance of materials in various production testing to find suitability for manufacturing processes on a large scale
9.    Advice APAC procurement stakeholders on any existing materials that will be a risk to Teleflex on future supply and risk to environment.
10.    Scope – covers all Procurement related projects in APAC sites.
 

Education / Experience Requirements

Qualification    
:    Degree in Materials Science or related field.

Experience    
    :    Min 3 years experience working with various materials such as but not limited to, resins such as PVC/ABS/EVA/PP, packaging materials, etc
    :    Involved in materials investigation or testing in extrusion, injection molding and other industrial processes. 
    :    Min 3 years experience working with operations/engineering to implement new processes related to new material introduction.
    :    Familiar with techniques in analysing and testing of materials
    :    1-3 years Laboratory experience 
    :    Good in communication and report writing 
    :    Good presentation skill
